Came home from a friend's house today to find this! She's munching on the unhatched ones a little . Look at the cute little suckers on her back ^_^

They are weird, but cute, was it planned or was you suprised?

thats cool, is that where the babys always go, on her back ?

Yerp, that's where the babies tend to scuttle. It's a natural instinct to ensure the majority of her offspring survive. Also, It negates the action of leaving the home range to acquire food for the adowable scorplings. I'm getting an emperor in a month or two. Just have to get enough cash to afford the 5 gallon tank for it.

I had a scorpion like that once. But I think mine was a male. I think the baby scorpions are cute.

Thats well cool! Must be pretty cool keeping a SCORPION!
Whats your plans for the babies?

They were trick babies, but it was pretty much unavoidable considering I have two males and 3 females in the same critter keeper :p. They are Centruroides vittatus, a very common native species, so I will probably just let the babies go if she doesn't eat them all first. She was preggers before I got her, the gestation period is like 8 months I think.

Yes, was for me too.

I am actually surprised that I thought they were cute, I immediately said "eww baby scorpions" when I saw the title, but I clicked on it anyway and they are cute.

More pics :)

Another gravid female... this one is my fave. She has more red on her than the others, but the flash washed her out.
