i've got a pretty young male platy. i bought him about a month ago because he was half price of the regular sized platies and was just sooo cute  he doesn't appear to be growing though. i feed twice daily and he is currently living with one other (adult) platy. do i need to be more patient or am i doing something wrong?

What size tank do you have him in? how old is he? I actually never noticed my fish growin' until I was away for two weeks and took a look in the tank. Because the other fish just grow at a similar rate. He might just be small as in nature some things are or you could just simply not notice the differeance especially if your looking at him twice a day or more.

Unless he has some obvious signs of stress or disease (clamped fins, heavy breathing, lesions, sores, etc) I'd suggest waiting. Platies take some time to reach full size. My first group of platy fry are still growing out after 6 months (though of course that bunch is a good size now :).
