Hello yesterday i went to do a 20-30% water change and realised that there was 5 baby guppies swimming round so to be on the safe side i put in a breading net to seperate them incase they get eaten i brought some baby fish food today but i was just wondering how long should i leave them in the breading net and is it ok to do 20-30% water change if you could let me know that would be great :/

my tank has 4 BN's
2 male guppy's
2 female guppy's

You should leave them in the breeding net until they are too big to fit in the biggest fish's mouth...probably in this case the mother and father! I wouldn't think the Bristlenoses would bug them too much...but I'd still wait at least a month so they can swim faster.

And yes, it's fine to do water changes. In fact, it will be very good for the fry, because they are sensitive and need good water quality.

And also, what you are feeding them is fine, but you might want to consider adding in some BBS. This seems to help mine grow pretty well. Once they grow, you can start crushing up flakes for them too.

Best of luck! :)

i'm feeding them TetraMin (baby) powder food for all tropical baby fish.
Biologically balanced for energy, colour and vitality
thats what the pot says

sorry i'm new to this forum...what dos BBS mean

Yes, that is good for the first couple weeks, but then they'll need some other kinds of foods too.

BBS = baby Brine Shrimp. :)

and also how many times a day should i feed them

annastasia thank you lots, this has helped me alot many thanks and all the best.

Ideally, about 6 times per day. Though this can be hard for some people...so preferably at least 3 if you can manage it. :)
