My babies are almost a week and a half old now. I have a live plant in there and he water line is at 6 inches. The tank is at 81 degrees and I have a sponge filter in there. I do 75% water changes daily now. Well, yesterday I was at the store and I picked up a magnifiying glass to look at the babies really up close. I saw these little worm like tiny, itty bitty, worm like orginizams in the water. Is this from the live plants? I'm feeding them baby brine shrimp now. I know it's not the shrimp in the water but it looks like worm like thingys. Anyone know what those are? The babies are not dieing off and seem to be fine. Should I transfer them into a new tank or are those orginizams good for them to eat? thanks.

You're little worms are probably planarians, you sometimes see them crawling all over the glass or swimming. This is usually caused by overfeeding the fry. There are usually planarians in all established tanks although you rarely see them.As the fry grow they will eat a lot of them & also by watching the amount of food that you put in they should graduallydecrease.

yes agree there you fry will eat them anyway .......... :p

Do fry like these planarians? Is this why you should have cycled tank water? Thanks for you replys guys. :hey:

yea do the fry actually eat the planaria? usually when i find them i just suck all the fry out give the tank a good scrubbing then add the little buggers back in the tank. the fry are lil bit dazed but they usually live...lol
