Wandering through the lfs, I saw a tiny dwarf puffer hiding in a tank with tiger barbs. Of course I bought him, but now I have a problem.. :look:

I have a resident puffer (who's twice the new one's size...I had no idea there was such a difference  ). Once about four months ago, I got a puffer so the resident puffer would have a friend, and it ended up dead a week later. I'm not sure of the cause.

I went to check on the tank and the big puffer was following the other one around. Not chasing...not picking...not attacking just following. I checked again about five minutes later...she wasn't bothering the new guy.

Before I put the new puffer in, I completely rearranged the tank, added new stuff, gave her snails to stalk.

My concern is, is it more likely she will like the company, or will she try to kill the new one? BTW, the other puffer I had tried with her a few months ago, was bigger than her. Would this have something to do with it? Thanks.

Sounds like you may have made a good match  . With the new addition being smaller your puffer may not see it as much of a threat. Keep an eye on him but they will probably be Ok :D

I sure hope so...

The big one is sleeping now, and the little one is snuggled in between my cories..
