I had one clown on its own with other community fish and thought he looked lonely so bought 2 baby clowns and treated the newcomers to protozin!
About three days ago, one of the babies was hanging about at the surface and wasnt scared at much just stayed put! Now he/she is hidding between the outlet and the top of the heater facing straight up as if gaspin? not completely lifeless but worrying non the less, just wondered if anyone had some idea's which could point me in the right direction please
Thanx Smiley :fun:

when i got my first three, they were tiny, one unfortunately didnt last the week, and vanished completely, but the other two spent a lot of time wedged in behind the filter housing in a tiny gap, almost motionless and resting on the suckers that the filter sticks with. after a few weeks they started venturing out a lot more, and now are always out and about somewhere. i put it down to stress of moving and change in parameters after leaving the shop as the waters fairly hard where i live- all my other water parameters were good though.

Well there is something wrong, obviously. The problem is with the smaller clown loaches they don't tend to be hardy and when they are sick it's sometimes hard to tell what's wrong.

hi

what chris_1127 said is exacly the same as what happened to mine bought 3 just under an inch and 1 died in couple days then the other 2 hid all the time but are now out alot and have a nex friend to take the dead ones place now 1 of old 1s is bout just over inch and the other 2 are just at the inch mark

:dunno: Thanx for the replies all, Bad news! the clown died yesterday evening after aimlessly swimming in circles at the surface, annoying really cos i constantly monitor the water and theres tonnes of places for them to hide (well planted, orniments, bog wood and pots on their sides).
thanx again
