I have a self sustaining guppie population. lol, i have had like 170 guppies and i have only ever brought maybe 10. My guppies have babies all the time, but lately they stopped. 1 month ago i found 1 baby all on his own and since i have seen no babies then today cleaning out my tank, i found 3 tiny babies. Like -- <that big. The mum could only be a 3 month old baby herself. I will take some pics and post them 2morro.

Thanks

Sean

Unfortunately, -- changes size depending on your screen resolution. Giving a specific lenth measurement is the best bet on giving people an idea for size.

When you say "lately" what do you mean? What else is in the tank? Are there any more males in the tank? There is a lot of information missing here, where any answers would just be guessing.

Well, one of the fish in the tank is still producing fry. I'd imagine there are some males in the tank still if you have 170 fish. How large is the tank? Are most of the guppies full grown? Guppies will eat their own fry. This may be the equilibrium you've reached in this tank between giving birth and surviving fry. The more fry survive, the more adults will exist to eat them. Unless you have a place to sell or give fry away to, this is the only natural way to control their populations.

and thanks wayne, i am well chuffed, lol

Im gonna kill my male guppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He jumped into the net with the babies, and ate one the damn thing. I wanna kill it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have reframed (is that a word) from my actually language coz this is a family site!!!!!!
I hate that guppy

Wow, I know these fish can jump, but I've never seen one jump INTO a confined space like a breeding not. Raise the net out of the water a bit, making it harder. That sucks, man. Good luck.
