I recently discovered little white dots all over the front of my tank on the inside. I thought nothing of it, and this morning I noticed them moving.
I have two catfish and 6 neon tetras in my tank. But these little things look like slugs or something, mixed with the the mouth of a catfish.
They're white, with like a little bubble around them, and are eating the front of the tank like the catfish, as I got my magnifying glass to examine them. They're tiny though, some of them are barely noticeable. I don't know what they are, can anyone help?
Much appreciated :).

Sorry if people think I'm posting it twice on purpose, I must of pressed the wrong button :/!

They honestly sound more like snails than catfish babies to me.
What kind of catfish do you have? There are lots of different species and some will breed quite happily in 'normal' tanks; bristlenoses, for example.

How did snails get into my fish tank though? I had to cover it for a bit as I left my window open, and weird flies started coming in for the warmth and light of the fish tank.
I don't know to be honest, sounds stupid, but I never thought to ask what sort of catfish they are. They sort of look like bristlenose catfish. The guy who worked at the fish shop probably wouldn't even have known, he knows as much about fish as my five year old cousin does, if not, my cousin knows more.

what makes you think these tiny things could even be bristlenose!? I've had them myself, and I believe they are snails. Acroloxidae to be precise. Have you bought any live plants recently?

Probably catfish. Which catfish do you have? Cory cats? Pictures would be wonderful if you can do that.

Sounds like corydora eggs to me. I saw my corydora sticking eggs randumly to the front of my tank last night.

i bought plants ages ago, as i'm trying to find a decent fish shop to go to at the minute. but when we got the plants, we washed them down and checked to see if there was anything live on them, and there wasn't as far as we could see lol. thanks for your replys :).

Snail eggs are very easy to miss!
I honestly think if your catfish are Bristlenoses and had bred, you would recognise the babies for what they are immediately; they're normally quite large by the time dad lets them out :)

i posted the topic twice by accident, and on the other one, some people said they seem like snails, and have i bought any live plants lately, which i have not, so i don't know, if they are snails, how they would of gotten in. thing is, these little white blobs don't have tails or anything, they're in a translucent bubble, and are just little blobs with mouths. when i get a new phone, as i don't have a camera, and my phone broke, i'll post pictures. they will have probably grown so i'll find out what they are, weirdly, i'm excited. and hopefully, i might be a mum! hehe. thanks for your help :).

I have combined the threads and put that duplicate on our trash pile. I hope this helps a bit to remove the referencing back and forth.
