Hey, I know that they are not fish and not exactly tropical but I have to recomend keeping Axolotls!!!!
They are amazing.
Once you have the right stuff for them, they are very easy to keep
Basicly, they are a type of salamander that is fully aquatic.
They need lots of room as they get to 30cm long!
No gravel, it can get stuck in their belly and stop frood from getting in, and out.
Lowest filter setting, they live in a lake in the wild which is still.
Lots of hiding places!
And as for diet, im strugleing on that one myself.
