Have a read of this care sheet - http://www.theamphibian.co.uk/axolotl_care_sheet_Ambystoma_mexicanum.htm

Thanks for the caresheet link Chris.

In brief, they are a coldwater species.
They can live for upto 20 years.
Grow to about 30cm.
They don't mix with other species.

Anyone interested should also visit www.axolotl.org.

Also note that a daily source of freshly hatched brine shrimp will be needed from Monday 8th.

Last posting 5.00pm Wednesday 3rd February.

I would really love to grow on some but dont have the time to dedicate to feeding them the tiny live food they need (best I could do is microworms and after reading up it seems that they wont be accepted till the are a little larger). Will you have any more for sale in a few months time when the weather warms up a little as I have a water butt in the garden that I could hatch them in. They should be fine in there as I accidentally grew a batch of newts in it as the eggs came with plants (not the best as I was keeping cherry shrimp in there at the time).

Hi ~T~, I'm hoping there wont be any more eggs this year. I've moved the female until the end of march to give her a chance to get over the laying of between 400 and 500 eggs last Sunday Night.

The Olive and speckled one is a belter, wish I had a spare tank, good luck selling these and anyone wanting them, GO FOR IT,,,, BUMPITY BUMP  :good:

Im too late for posting out the babies, but would you consider posting out one of the babies? Ive been looking for an axolotl for ages!

any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, Sorry for the delay, I've been very busy and things are pretty hectic with lots of axolotl larvae to feed. I really don't like the idea of posting the larvae, but I know people who do, so if you want to pm me your email addy I can pass it on for you. Alternatively, caudata.org have an axolotl forum with a for sale section.
