Awsome Apple Snail Behavior

I just saw my black brig apple snail doing the coolest thing. He was on the glass of the tank just below the surface, holding on with the back of his "foot". He had formed the front into a funnel and positioned it right below the suface. He did something that drew the water on the surface down the funnel so that all the stuff hanging on the got stuck in the neck of the "funnel" . He'd then stick his head into the funnel eat all the stuff he caught. He's like a liveing suface skimmer!

That snail never ceases to amaze me, I can't believe how smart snails can be.

I forgot the name of that behavior, but yeah, it is really cool.

I wish mine would do somthing besides breed I always see them doing the nasty.

Yeah, I enjoy watching my brigs as well. Really hilarious when they either go parachuting (grab a lump of floating riccia then sink with it still gripped) or decide to go really extreme and just let go! They're even more amusing if you keep them with shrimp, as then you get snail riding races.... lol
