Hi there is a girl on kickstarter that designed a tank you don't have to clean ever or ever change the filter. In think the brand will be called neveux or something like that.I read an article that dates back to 2014,In the Article it says will be released next June. Its over 2 years now,I wondered if anyone knows if it's gone on sale yet?!

I'd be highly suspicious of a tank or filter you never have to clean. Fish create waste, that waste has to go somewhere, filters trap the waste so it doesn't stay in the water column (not talking about ammonia, nitrite or nitrate, I'm talking about poop).

Furthermore, stuff builds up on the glass in pretty much every aquarium I've ever seen. I'd suspect even the most competent fish keeper has the occasional issue with algae, especially in new tanks before the balance of light and nutrients is settled.

I maybe in the minority.....

but I LOVE doing water changes, taking care of and tinkering around with my tanks - I wouldn't want one that was maintenance free.

I wish the inventor the best, they'll probably become millionaires and I'll still be spending my time completing water changes..... :)

Very true,I didn't find that odd,Apparently the bottom constantly turns,Maybe it mashes everything to oblivion and the plants eat it ha.She says all you have to do is top it up now and again there is a video of it.Iv downgraded from a 60lt bio orb to a 25lt cleair aqua,It does get dirty quickly unless for the sake of a few minutes every few days you give it a quick wipe inside. The filter isn't that bad as when you remove it bits don't come out of it.I was thinking of putting plants in but is it the plants that stop the algae even if it gets dirt at the bottom from waste? I don't keep the light on often and it's away from direct sunlight but wow it goes green fast. Its quick to clean though. Thanks for replying

I'm no expert on algae, but from my experience it grows when the conditions are right, which means nutrients in the water and enough light. I used to get the green stuff (that my BN Plecos wouldn't touch) building up all the time, but I've reduced the amount of food I give the fish and slightly lowered the light duration, now all is peachy.

Live plants will take up some of the nutrients, leaving less for the algae (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thank you for that.Im going to clean it later.I leave the light off over night.Unfortunatley I'm going to have to take a risk and completely empty the tank to get it completely out,I mean the algae.iv only got two harlequin at the moment so it should be able to build up slowly.
