does anyone know information about automatic feeders.
I have heard of ones that are on a clock that continulesly move depositing small amounts of food all the time. Are these good for growing fish or will the amount of food contaminate the water.

I am a teacher and bought one of these to use in my classroom tank (29 gal) during the summer. It worked great. It deposited food every twelve hours and you could adjust how much was dispensed. I came in once a week to check on it and make sure it was still working and loaded with food. However, this Thanksgiving holiday when I used it it got moisture in it all all the food spoiled and turned to moldy goo. It was GROSS! Smelled like something dead as soon as I walked in the door. I am thinking that it did this because the water level was low enough that the air tubes on my undergravel filter were making the water mist (kindof like a carbonated beverage when it's freshly poured but after the foam goes away). :dunno: I am not sure if I will try it again, though. It was G-R-O-S-S!!!!! :byebye:

i got the Fish Mate F14 Aquarium Feeder. you can hook up an air tube to it. this prevents humidity getting into the feeder. works great! it's about $25 dollars don't pay over 30 like i did, you can find it for cheaper. good luck
