I recently bought a group of 5 of these at petsmart because they where healthy, cheap, active, and colorful. I just am looking for some info and tips because I can't seem to find much on australian rainbowfish. I pretty sure that I have one male because it is the most colorful one being red and the others are like yellowish green. I'm just wondering if its fine that they are in a community 25 gal tank with 2 gouramis, 5 giant danios, 4 loachs, and soon to be 1 rubbernose pleco and five sword tails. They seem to be very active and its cool they school with the danios. Also the male has seemed to be doing some sort of mating dance because he's gotten alot darker and colorful. I would just like to know how big there going to get cause right now they are about 2inchs and growing quick, petsmart said they where large but they look tiny. My background on my aquarium is its 4 years old, I'm always like some type of community type tanks, and I had to get rid of my giant angels cause they where too aggesive, I am not a noob when it comes to fish, also I just want to try somthing new so I got these!, anyway thank for any comments and tips.

Yes!, My male looks just like that and I've read in my books they won't out grow my tank cause they're max is like 4inchs.

Its weird but even though I don't want them too, they're trying to mate!

I have boeseman and dwarf neon rainbows and they all dance about, occasionally flaring. The male boeseman always shows off with the one remaining female I have and both their colours darken and fluctuate. No babies yet though

I like the look of your rainbows though :D
