This may rove my inexperience, but can i use silicone to "glue" live rock together? basically, i ordered some tonga and it arrived in pieces, more like rubble, so my biggest piece is 5" long, and i would like to start my aquascape. thanks

Maybe, but it maynot be strong enough. There's a special putty liek stuff made especially to glue rocks together...real strong :good: your LFS should have it...mine does and its been sat their for ages -_-

I use this

Dont worry about the colour as pretty soon it will all blend in when Coraline algae gets going.

Yep I use the same stuff (actually I use WAY too much of that stuff :) ). If you have lots of big rocks to stick together the best thing to do is drill a hole in both rocks where they are going to touch and fit an acrylic rod between them (using some marine putty in the holes will help hold it really secure).

i wouldnt use silicone, even when curing outside it releases a terrible smell of ammonia, hate to think what chemicals come out when it cures underwater. I would go with a specific marine paste/glue or something, like the ones that were said already.

Sure can. You can use aquarium epoxy putty (which I use). You can even use those plastic ratchet ties. Yes..plastic will get covered with coralline algae. SH
