So, I've got a bit of a snail problem in my tank that I need to eradicate. I know it's kind of ironic to be buying snails to get rid of a snail problem but I've heard it works.

Theres quite a lot of snails in my tank, my tank is 4x2x1 in feet to give an idea of the size.

How many assassin snails do I need to get to get rid of all of those little snails??

The assassins will breed too, just more slowly. Because of that, I'd suggest only getting 1 or 2, and cutting back on your feeding, because that's most likely what has caused your problem in the first place. But yes, it does work.

The best thing to do is definately cut down on your feeding. This is why you will have so many snails in your tank.

You will find that the less food they have to eat the less numbers of snails you will have.

In the mean time I would put a little food or cucumber in a jar in the tank over night, in the morning you will probably find you have some snails in there which you can easily remove, also remove any in the tank that you see in the evenings as this is when they mainly come out. Might take you a while but you will get there in the end.

Personly I prefer to have a few snails ( MTS ) in my tank as they help with the maintenance!
