Hi, bought one of these yesterday and they look amazing :good: . its about 3 inches long a greeny/ gold colour with a dark spot on the side and only cost £3.50. since adding it to my tank we have not seen it....... its hidden somewhere!!!!!

does anyone else have one of these?

is this all they do just hide, or will it come out eventually?

what size do they get to? (was told about 5 inch from shop)

i hope it does come out as it is a great looking cat, but if its just going to hide then whats the point.......

Matt

yeah thats the one. 17.7 inches...... i only have a 90 litre tank!!!!!!!! am i best to take it back now or to keep it for a bit and when its too big then take it back.....? i really do like the cat even though it only comes out at night, but looking at it i think it is already a good 3 inches long.

i would take it back now, sometimes its harder for stores to get rid of larger fish. i know the place near me has a 240 gallon tank set and its full of oscars, jaguars, pacus, and very large plecos that people couldnt care for any longer. i asked one day out of curiosity how much one of the larger plecos(12inches) were and they were only going for $29, almost a year later the same fish are in the tank plus a few others.

Oh, cool

Creature Comforts in Totton often has these in stock, often in at least two different sizes (~2", ~4"). Pretty much every time I see them without fail, the bigger specimen tank (which are still babies on the grand scheme of things) is a hive of inactivity, whereas the tiny babies are scooting about like busy little puffers. Lovely looking catfish, shame about the monster adult size that will dwarf Kieth eventually! Mystus bimaculatus is similar looking but stays much smaller.

I have 1 of these about 7" do they really get that big..? Gas anybody seen 1 that big or has a photo of a full grown 1 cause all the info I've ever found is 12" max
