this time last year i could not afford an arowana but ive done a dealwith my dad if i get good gcse results my dad will give me £350 so my question can i get an asian aro for my tank but i cannot imagine that i would buy that much but, can people go to the lfs and see whats for sale in asain arows im just getting a kind of idea how much 350 will go i would like i kind of small as i like watching fish grow

how much food is needed per day

thanks again

Yes you could keep one in your 6x2x2 but i would get rid of the other fish you currently have in there. Gourami can sometimes be right bastards and with a young aro worth £350 I wouldn't risk it for some 5 quid ugly fish!

You can get yourself a Red Tail Gold aro (same as in my sig) for £350 leaving you no change, or you can get Banjar reds which usually go for £300 odd, then of course there's greens which are aorund £100. Don't bother with a LFS use this fella.. http://www.arowanas.co.uk/1.html mine came from him and he provides a great service and product! Most his aro's are around the 8-9" mark.

When young they can eat quite a bit, I think I was feeding mine aorund 10 super worms a day which converts to about £3 per week on food.

hahaha so your RTG came from HP low dont waste your money on a banjar red or a green the red tail gold is the best start point with asian aros

he sure did, I'll 2nd the point on greens, I think Banjars can be nice though. I orginally bought a green, drove up to him with my brother, week later I had HP driving down to me to swap my green for a RTG instead.

Defo got to go to hp.
his aro are quality and his price is the best around for what you want. banjar`s are a waste of time as if you get one you will only want to upgrade to a rtg. buy a rtg you wont regret it.

as already said, get rid of your current stock of fish and rebuild the whole tank around the aro.

Those prices are for silver, blacks, jardinis and leitchardis. Asian aros, which are banned in the US, are a whole class above them (just my opinion). Like comparing hyundais to rolls royce

Personally, i love greens, great looking fish, but if you want color and "bling" then go for a RTG, both are great starter aros.
