My two new gals don't want to eat, and I've had them sicne Sunday and I have no idea if they ate before then. THey are quite small actually, about the 1/3 of the size of Sangria my Red Betta. Honestly the little pellets look too big for them, I'll drop one in and they go up to it and then just turn away.

So I'm thinking of getting them Artemia (look like sea monkeys) because that's the only live food I can get here. Been doing some research and apparently they are the same as Brine Shrimp... but are they baby brine shrimp or regular brine shrimp? I don't know what either three of them look like... please help me out!

Oh yeah the artemia here is small... about the size of this __ (head, body, tail) Is that correct to the size of Brine Shrimp?

Edited to add:

Here's a pic I found of what I get here

Sounds like brine shrimp size to me. Baby brine shrimp are about the size of a period or comma.

Edited to add: Those are adults.

Also, I've yet to meet a betta who doesn't love bloodworms - see if you can get your hands on some frozen ones! ;)

Oooh yeay! Thanks a bunch! I'm about to go and get some BS then :) Oh Bloodworms.. hmm... live food isn't too popular here but there is this place that sells these tiny tiny worms (not blackworms), are those it? THey're about this size ___ and about that thin, kinda brownish looking and all bunched up together. THe guy said you need to keep them moist but not wet or else they die

I don't know what they look like alive - if there are frozen ones available, I would get those. The frozen ones are red. My bettas love them, and there is no chance of disease as there can be with live foods.

Any frozen foods would work well. If they are small, frozen Daphnia would work well. My bettas love it more than anything. Even frozen foods carry parasites, as well as live foods. There is not as big a chance of it, but they do carry them.

My bettas detest frozen daphnia, but everyone's different. I misspoke about parasite/bacterial transmission. What I should have said was hiroki frozen foods do not carry these things. They complete a three-step sterilization process for all their frozen foods. I would look for Hiroki if it's available.
