Armless Crab

Yeah, as they moult their limbs will grow back. I might be inclined to think his tankmate may finish the job while he is disabled though, so beware.

Hmmm... :/ Seems pretty dire. If you haven't already, I'd move him to a little hospital tank. I hope he's ok, but with both arms missing, he might not make it. Maybe someone who knows more about crabs may be able to offer some advice.

At any rate, if he can survive until he moults, he should start to regenerate his claws. They'll be smaller at first, but if he pulls through after a couple of moults he should be good as new.

...by the by, what attacked him?

its only one arm and he seems happier than ever with just the one, i mean he still eats fine and runs all over the place so i cant see any suffering. as far as i know it was another red clawed crab which is slightly bigger than him and more dominant, however im not to sure... the more likely suspect would be my young blue cray who is in there. i think it was the cray to honest.

Oh! Just one arm? Yeah, he should be just fine in that case. All crustaceans regenerate lost limbs.
The cray seems a likely suspect... I'd keep an eye on him, in case he's a grouchy one. :)
