Hi guys.

For a few days one of my Platys was picking on another quite badly and the victim seemed to have lost some scales on her left side. For some reason the other fish was only nipping at this side.

Anyway as I don't have another tank, I used a largebreeder net to seperate the two fish and was wondering how long it would be before I could free the victor?

They've been seperate now for 6 days.

My intial though as to keep them seperate until I've finished treating the tank with Aquarian First Aid solution. This treatment is due to finish on Wednesday.

Any thoughts?

What size is your tank? :dunno:

Is this a male that is aggressive? :dunno:

What other fish are in the tank? :dunno:

:)

It's a 54 litre tank and it's well understocked as I only have 8 Plattys in there and have another 11 inches worth of fish to play with.

All my fish are female.

I would definatly re-arrange the tank a bit.

How is the loser doing? Is she healed?

If she is still agressive after 6 days in "The Hole", then no amount of time will work. :/

I had a gold gourami in a net for a week, he attacked the other fish five minutes after being released.

Thanks, I'll have a little play with my ornaments and plants tomorrow then let her out.

If theres still no improvement I'll give her to my lfs.

Frankies scales seem to be getting on OK, not had any problems with her behaviour since Dunk has been in the net. Before she was hiding alot with her fins clamped and would try to avoid Dunk.

Dunk didn't seem to bother any of the other fish apart from Frankie and Frankie has no problems schooling with the others so I think Dunk is definately the problem
