Ok once peppered corys start spawning do they ever stop? Mine seem to be laying at least 30 eggs each day, this has been going on now for around 3 weeks! So far I only have 6 fry which I rescued from my first ever batch of eggs but since then my female bettas have been polishing off all the eggs. The reasons I ask is
1. my female bettas are getting fatter and fatter thanks to the eggs
2. I'm worried that they might tire themselves out to the point of death at the rate they seem to be going!

hi natsuko, they do slow down with there spawning as they get older.mine use to spawn what seemed like every other day,now they spawn once every 4 weeks instead.
my goldfish eat the eggs & i just stop the weekly bloodworm i fed & changed to daphnia instead cus is not so full of fat.
lucky you getting them to breed so often, you must have the conditions spot on for them!!!
shaz :)

Thanks for replying Shaz! I think I'll cut back on feeding for a few days then see if that helps to calm them down! I wouldnt mind but they dont get bloodworm very often now maybe once or twice a week along with daphnia! Perhaps if I also cut back on the live food too that might help!

hi natsuko,id definatly cut down on the bloodworm etc as this conditions them in to breeding.i read on here once that feeding them live food for a week or so then changing some of the tank water can spur them into breeding so think youv been unintentionaly conditioning them into breeding with out knowing, lol!like i said tho, lucky you for having them spawn so often, you must be doing something really right for them to be spawning so often, lol!!!youl ave people asking you how you do it soon!
shaz :)
