I just caught a rare glimpse of my favourite bristlenose plec - he usually hides in one or many holes on a large piece of wood I have in the tank. I saw to my dismay that he has some form of fungus. I managed to get a rubbish photo but hopefully it may help someone confirm what he has wrong with him. The stuff looks kind of like grains of sand and is visible on both gills, on one flank and on the tips of his fins. I really hope I can save him. Going to get some Pimafix tomorrow as I heard that's good stuff.

Well it certainly looks like fungus to me. Any anti fungus medication should do the trick, however take a printout of the pic you posted and show it to your lfs if you trust their advice and ask for a second opinion, just to be on the safe side.

Have you tested your water level recently? Are there any other fish in the tank showing similiar signs of fungal infection?

Myxazin is what you needm 1 week of that and it will clear it up.

infact u can use both myxazin and pimafix at same time.

Just half the dosage of both.

ps, i would favour the myxazin over the pimafix if you want to use just one.
