trying to work out what my cory is. This is him, and a pic of a trilineatus (3 lined cory). are they the same? the head markings look different but thats probably just variation of the same species right? anyway here they are

No i would say they definatly aernt the same but i don't have a clue what their names are; maybe somone else here will come along and give you some more info soon :)
 
i added some more pics of other corys people have suggested he might be. he looks so close to the three line its just the difference in the head pattern makes me wonder...
 
Yes it is a trilineatus. Remember that because corys are now fairly easy to breed in aquariums, you wont find wild caught ones that tend to have much more similar patterns. On tank bred fish you will find the patterns to slightly vary some times, this is really down to the quality of the genetics deteriorating over time, and basically in-breeding.

You also have to take into account things such as hybrids.... but i cant be bothered to go into that ;)
