I currently have a 55gl. aquarium that contains a few Danios, Ghost Catfish, Bala Sharks, and Corydoras Catfish. I want to add a few Electric Yellow Cichlids as well as a few other Mbunas. Would the fish I currently have stocked be in any real danger of being killed? I would think that at least the Danios would be able to hold their own.:/

never ever stock Mbuna with anything other than more Mbuna (and some select catfish). They are very aggressive and will destroy the rest of your fish.

Also - those bala need massive tanks and should be in groups of 6+

O.K. Thanks. I will go ahead and try to find a new home for my current fish to make room for some Mbuna.

Could try other rift lake cichlids too, could work out better for the 55G

Why do you think other Rift Lake Cichlids might work better for my setup?

How about Pictus Catfish? Would they be compatible with Cichlids?

Lake Tanganyika has cichlids that are slightly smaller to that of Mbuna, You can get a few dwarf mbuna species that stay 3" to 4" but all round tanganyika has more smaller species. Although I have seen some stunning 55G mbuna set-ups, was just putting it out there, its your tank so you choose which you want :D

Alrighty then, thanks for the advice. I will look into those Tanganyikans and research which species are compatible.;)
