so I've a 29gallon nano tank, I was wondering if Green Spotted Puffers would get alone with a Yellow-tailed Damsel and a Velvet Blue Damsel?

They are brackish, however they are also saltwater, they can adapte to both, just like black Mollies. Over a certain period of time it's possible to acclimatise a black molly to become a full saltwater fish, then back again to a freshwater fish.

Green spot puffers, like many euryhaline fishes, do much better in a reef tank than in freshwater or even brackish, due to the large amounts of 'pods and algae they can eat. In my experience, they will become very colourful and quickly shed any of the fungi, bacteria and parasites they picked up in freshwater.

It is best to acclimate these fish to full salt over a period of about an hour. This will simulate the fish moving "down the river". To do this, take a bowl that can hold the fish and the water it came in, dump him and the water in, the remove about 10-20% of the water and replace it with salty. Repeat this every ten minutes or so. I have used this to successfully acclimate several euryhaline fish, including two green spot puffers.

I bought the GSP, the gentleman at the store told me they should be fine, however to watch for agression. Instead of your method ,lynden, I used a drip acclimatization method of a period of 2 hours, this allowed the water to become equally as salty, however it wasn't neccesary for me to do this as the store had him full acclimatized already. I still did it so there would be no negative impacts, plus the GSP which is generall $7-10 was only $1.99!! :D

My puffer is a big baby, he occasionally gets pushed around by a maroon clown half his size. Of course he could turn around and remove half the clown's skull in a single bite; but he doesn't.

Well, from what I've seen so far my new GSP is the same way, however the damsels don't bother him, and he prefers not to bother them :)
