hey guys.
i met up with a family friend who works for the city, and i saw he had some snails i had never seen before.
he told me he catches them in a canal that has brackish water. he's had them in his freshwater tank for nearly a year
and they're all alive and very very active.
everything about what he told me makes me think of Nerite snails based on what i've read about them.
but these are mostly brown or honey yellow. he got me 27 and out of that there are about 5-6 variations of patterns.

are these then the so called "olive nerite"?

if so, are these sellable? i would buy them, so i'm wondering if i bring them to my club auction if they'd sell?

thanks :)

Yes, those could easily Neritina reclivata. But do look at how odd their shell growth is. While they can live in freshwater for quite some time, a year or two maybe, it clearly isn't ideal. On the other hand, for aquarists after an brackish water algae-eater, they're a good choice.

Cheers, Neale
