I got to disagree!

I have 2 orange Blood parrots and one just like the top one...

When I got the orange ones they were almost the size of a American 50-cent coin as is my little striped one now (he is about an 1.5 inch).

I think the one is a blood parrot like the orange ones

ok so some get there quicker than others or yours ere dyed at a young age. why do you have to "disagee" its a fact

when i say 4" i mis typed i meant 3" but they should all be orange by 5".

It is a FACT that I can prove wrong ...

I know what dyed fish look like - this isn't!

Here is a shot from several minutes ago --- showing the new one to have gain even DARKER SPOTS on him - not turning orange!

To understand the chronological order:

The first one (of mine) by himself was the day after I got him.

The one with the 2 Blood Parrots which are ONLY 3 1/2 inches now was taken less than a week ago.

The picture on this post was JUST taken ...

What FACT are you claiming?

the fact im claiming is, BLOOD PAROTS NORMALLY mature at around 3" some quicker/slower than others. and by the time its 4-5" itll be fully coloured. so what point are you making? im answering the topics question by telling howlong till it will get bigger.

o, and you obviously didnt research your fish. as if you did then you would have known what size tank have u got them in?

3 parrots will need a min of 75g

okay ... so the orange ones could get darker since they are still small?

no they ave matured to there orange colour unlike the grey/black/brown one which hasnt.

All the fish in this thread are regular blood parrots.

Blood parrots just like midas cichlids/red devils start out dull grey with stripes/bars and at about 3" will start to change to orange/yellow etc. Some take longer to mature than others. Very small BP's that are already fully coloured are hormone treated to speed up the changing process(what sells better/for more a dull grey fish or a bright orange fish?).

That one the V shaped tail look to just be in poor condition, its fins will heal to look like a normal BP.
