My Assassin snails have been playing piggy-back quite a bit since I put them in my shrimp tank a few weeks ago and I was wondering if these are Assassin eggs? (on the white stone, clear sac type blobs with small 'yellow/brown dot inside). There`s quite a few more in the tank but these are the clearest photos I could get:

yep, they are assassin snail eggs!!

Yes Lisa you do seem chuffed lol
Anyway, Assassin Snail egg development and hatching relies on water temperature, with a warm temp, the snail eggs tank around 3 weeks to hatch. With a colder temp, it may take up to 9 weeks for the eggs to hatch. Same applies with growth and sexual maturity, it depends on water temp.

That said, once they hatch you will not see them for quite some time... They will burrow into the substrate and crawl out once they're bigger.
Carl :)

Thanks Carl B-)

Temp is currently at approx 25C, hopefully that`s warm enough. Don`t really want to up the temp as the Shrimps become less active if it`s too warm. Time will tell I guess :D

Hi erm..
I started off with 4 assassin snails and now have probably 200-300. I was the same as you at first - WOOOOOO!!! Baby Assassin snails!!!. But then I realised.. they breed VERY fast. I can't even give them away to my local stores. You should probably try and get rid of them while you can, before you're overrun.

Sorry,
