Are my fish full?

To help with overfeeding remind yourself of these things
  • a fish's stomach is the same size as it's eye
  • fish are cold blooded so do not need to keep warm, they use a lot less energy than us
  • fish are opportunist feeders, in nature they may not eat for days at a time
  • adult fish only need feeding once a day
  • uneaten food reduces water quality
@Jan Cavalieri - you could be the OFFA buddy that Mrsjoannh13 is looking for! :-

I've had good luck with salt and pepper cories in 175 ppm water and ph of 7.6. Not much luck with pandas, skunk,, or False Julii cories.

I use tap water that comes through a filter
What kind of filter?

There are several types, and one of them swaps hardness minerals for sodium or sometimes potassium. This type should not be used in fish tanks because no freshwater fish (particularly soft water fish) have evolved to cope with sodium in the water. These are recharged with salt (or potassium chloride in the case of the potassium type)
