for the first few days they were really active, up an down and round an round all day. i put 5 neons in with em and they calmed down a bit. thought the neons might be fin nipping (sure i read somewhere that they might) but havent seen anything of the sort going on. have now added 6 guppies and the corys really dont do much at all these days, always 'sit' on the sand and only seem to move around if they need to. they still eat fine and look ok, no reason to think they have anything wrong with them and the water is ok (bit of nitrate but no more than usual) but you really dont seem em playing like they used to. as i havent witnessed any bullying or whatever from the others, is there any other reason why they mightve calmed down?

cheers

Do you know what your readings are for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and PH?

Looks ok but hard to tell for definite.
My Cories were really active when I first added them but settled down after a few days. Most catfish are nocturnal and tend to become more playful when the lights are turned off, I know mine are!
I found that having a bit more decor at the front of the tank encouraged them to come out a little more and I'm assuming this makes them a little more secure. It might be worth trying the same thing.
This is only my experience so not guaranteed, I'm afraid!
