The largest of my Baby Apple snails ore just over 0.5cm, is this too small to send out. I have so many that I think that may be a reason why they haven't grown so much. I would appreciate opinons on this as I would hate to think I would be harming them in any way, but also need to rehome alot to clear the community tank. :good:
PS I was going to post a piccy, but couldn't find the button?

Hi m8 not entirely sure but i have seen people on ebay selling them at this size?

I think it might be too small as their shells are still pretty delicate, you could always buy a cheapo plastic tank (wilco do one for a few pounds) and put your babies in there to feed them up with bloodworm and veggies and stuff. Id post at about a cm or more.
I also think that when theyre so small they may get hassled in their new home, like not compete for food and get pecked and stuff. Could just be me over analysing a baby snail lol.

Thanks Guy's, I dont have any funds to set up a second tank, other half still out of work. I'll just have to wait I guess. I have noticed there are quite a few variants of colouring, so should be interesting when they get bigger. Of the inhabitants in my tank these have been the most succesfull in breeding. Mind you I did notice the ottos getting very jiggy with it the other day but with all these snails if the ottos did lay eggs I don't think they would last long.

Thanks again for the info :good:
