hi i would like to setup a 75l tank suited for gouramis so no water movement wotsoever, so no agitation and less O2, and i was wondering if corydoras would be ok in this setup as i ahve heard they can breathe atmospheric air. do they just do this as a final resort? or would they be happy in a still aquarium?

or are there other catfish species better suited?

many thanks, Jamie

Well there's no pint in depriving the gouramis of oxygen in the water just becuase they can take it from the atmosphere anyway, so if you you set it up right the tank should have enough oxygen for most fish. Just make sure the temperature is good for the gourami and corydoras species you choose, and maybe use a couple of sponge filters, or a regular internal/external with spraybar to get enough flow without creating lots of turbulence.
