Are Clown plecs the smallest plecs? :dunno:

Do they produce the same amount of waste as a common plec of the same size? :dunno:

What is the average price for a clown plec? :dunno:

Yeah Clown plecos are small but there are some that are that small two including CAndy Stripe Pleco, Zebra pleco with a few other

The amount of waste they put off i have no clue

At my LFS a clown pleco is 2.99

Zebra plecs are EXPENSIVE!!! I've seen them sold for 80 us dollors!

The smallest i've come across is the Pitbull Pleco (LDA25) - they get to about 2.5" fully grown :D

clowns and candys get to about 4 or 5"

Zebras may be expensive, but they are BEAUTIFUL fish, are great for the community tank, small and passive. Only thing is that they aren't nearly as good as other plecs at tank cleaning . . .

I heard that zebs are getting less expensive as time goes on, so maybe someday soon they will have dropped to a price reasonable for the average fish keeper . . . like me . . .
,
Edit: changed the word "massive" to "passive," which is what I meant. Small and massive . . .

they arn't algae eaters (like quite a lot of plecs arn't)

They are actually very expensive at the moment - apparently their homes have been over fished for the asian market as there is a huge demand for them over there.

the numbers are going back up though so prices should start to come back down.

This is the reason i want to breed them - leave a few more in the wild!

I'm planning a 50 gallon corner tank for Zebras and Butterflies once I have a sizable enough and steady income to afford it. I fully intend to breed both species of possible and sell them. What would be great is neither is common or easy to find especially in this area so I can make a living off just breeding them. Fortunately the Butterflies are much cheaper and should be easier to aquire.
