I've had a BN plec for a few months now, and he rarely comes out from under an amazon sword with low leaves that I have in the corner of my tank. Sometimes he will make a mad rush from one side to the other, to hide behind a different plant, kicking the gravel around.

I feed him two algae wafers daily, and occaisonally cucumber if we have some. He also eats the algae that grows in the tank, as the back panel of glass is always spotless in the morning, but the front one I have to clean.

I was wondering if BN plecs are usually so reclusive? The tank pictures I've seen on this site always have plecs that are out and about. :/

DO you think a 29g will be big enough for a pair? It is 30 1/4 x 12 1/2 x 18 3/4.

If not I'll just need to wait until I upgrade I suppose.

I have 5 in my 20G tank and the water stats stay great with weekly 25% water changes.

Great. :hyper:

I'll get him a girl once I change over to sand and make him a cave.

Will the inevitable babies be eaten as with my livebearers, or will I have to give them away constantly?

My bristlenoses were very active when juveniles but have taken up more sedate existences under their respective pieces of bogwood since they became adults. The do come out but it is usually at some obscure hour of the night!

Forgot to mention, the male BN looks after the baies so I think you are more likely to be giving them away.
