Hello,

My Arcadia T5 I Bar has stopped working. I don't know if it is the bulbs or the unit. Please can someone who knows answer this question :

If just one bulb has broken does it stop both bulbs lighting up ? This used to happen on my old Juwel light unit.

Would like to resolve today if possible.

Thanks a lot,
Adrian.

Maybe a dumb question, but have you checked the fuse?

Yes that was the first thing I checked. Fuse is fine. If one broken bulb stops the whole unit lighting then i'll obviously just get a new bulb, but i dont want to get a new bulb only to find out if's the actualy unit thats broken.

Thanks.

Is the starter functioning? Try changing that first.

Geoff, I could be wrong but it appears to be a totally sealed unit. It's an Arcadia T5 I Bar... I assume the starter could be the issue, but dont think i can get to it. Any advice ?

Also to add - just been to fish shop and it is definately not the bulbs. Both replaced (just to test it) and it's dead.

Very disappointed because i've had my rio 125 light unit go, my rio 180 light unit go (both Juwel), so on my rio 400 I bought a light unit I thought would last, and 18 months later that goes too

Cheers.

Im not famililar with the unit but assuming its just standard lighting there must be a starter in there somewhere...

It looks like this and will usually come out with a twist to the left...

There may be a panel somewhere which the starter is concealed behind... On my standard lighting it was behind a panel that was siliconed in place.

Id say its not broken but either a bulb or starter has gone.
