I'm probably going to be buying on of these soon, does anyone have any hands on experience with the filter that comes with it? Is it any good? If not I'll upgrade to a HOB from Hong Kong

Hi there,

I've not tried it, but its a great looking little tank :D

If your after a HOB filter, before you try honkong, try closer to home.

Eheim do a nice range of HOB filters for a very reasonable cost. (the Liberty range)

Thanks, do you know of a store online that sells them, I've had a look but no where seems to have them.

I'm not a filter expert, but I don't think the filter is very good. You get a single coarse sponge and a bag of carbon granules. Only the largest particles are caught by the sponge. I replaced the carbon granules with ceramic biomedia (you don't get much) and the filter can deal with a 100% stocking level as advised by aqadviser. I have however put a piece of tights around the intake to act as a fine filter as I have a bit of an algae issue at the moment. I'd ideally like better mechanical filtration, and I am thinking of upgrading.

The tank is great though, I love the way it looks.
