ok todaye i went too the aqueriam sohp and seeen this fish caled a arawana an i was wonderig wat they eate?

there are several different species of arrowana, do you know what sort it is? they all get large and need big tanks, secure lids and suitable tank mates - some are more aggressive than others (I think the jardini is particularly nasty - the bf's one has been known to be an absolute sod) - his silver is ok at the moment but growing like a bean sprout. you might get some more answers if you put this in the oddballs section. food wise, mussels, fish, cockles, prawns, crickets.

lovely fish, actually while were on this topic, went to a lfs the other day and they had a tank and the only label was for arrowana, there was 1 fish I recognised as one, and 4/5 others that were a similar shape but less pronounced if that makes sense and spotty, were they arrowana too?

nope, they were only about 6-8 inches long (could be juvi's though??) they did have the sort of pointy head and tail of an arrowana but less pointy if that makes sense, and they were silver with black spots all over

This is a juvenile Black Arowana

There are other types of arowana

Jardini and Leicthardi(sp) and Arapaima Gigas, the jardini is spotted and very pretty but psycho.
The arapaima are unsuitable for the normal aquaria in the home

Steve :)
