I have boiled my wood for easily 6 hours and left it to sit in a bucket of water for 4 days how much longer should I wait before I put in the aquarium or can I put it in now :fish:

What wood is it,when i poured boiling water over my bogwood,it ruined it,so have just bought some morpani ,soaked it in cold water for a few hours and put it in my tank ,the water `s got loadsof little floating bits in ,but as i`m doing daily water changes [tanks still going throuh cycle],i`m not too concerned .?

Boiling the wood will more then likely lossen the fibres and make the tannis worse(not a bad thuing). Will be fine to add now anyway

For future reference all you need to do is rinse it in water for a few minutes and then add it, it will leach tannins but they look awesome and are good for fish.

I soaked mine for 24hrs using hot water(changing the water every few hours),then popped it into the tank...it has leached some tannins, but i like the slightly tinged look, and its good for the fish :)
