AQUARIUM STAND

HI,

JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS, WHERE I CAN BUY A CHEAPISH AQUARIUM STAND TO HOLD A 3FT TANK,

WHICH HOLDS 127 LITRES, ITS JUST I HAVENT REALLY A CLUE ABOUT THIS SORT OF THING AND MY PARTNER THINKS THE TANK WILL SUFFICE ON A CHEST OF DRAWERS (I TEND TO DISAGREE). THE ONLY STANDS THAT I'VE SEEN AVAILABLE ARE ABOUT £70, AND THE AQUARIUM WAS ONLY £100,

PLEASE HELP,

I picked up a tv stand at a harware store for under $20 canadian it is30 inches high and has a shelf for stuff underneath.

Wow what a bargain, and it holds the weight?.

Knowing my luck it would break instantly and the tank would crack.

Yes, the top shelf sits on TOP of three supports. one on each side and one in the middle. Just make sure the top shelf sits on top of the supports and not inside them and you should be OK.

same here - the 4 ft is on a chunky coffie table (we wanted it low)
and i've just bought a TV cabinet for our next one.

You can get wrought iron stands from http/www.aquatics-online.co.uk I just bought 2 24" x 12" for my cube. They are £25 each and have overnight delivery for £4 or something.

I have got my krib tanks on drawers and they are fine, as long as the wirght is evenly distributed IMO it is fine. But the unit has to be fairly strong to start with.

i've just looked and they look great, however my partner thinks they are too low (never bl**dy satisfied lol). do you know if they do them a little higher ??

well depends on where you live. if we knew a country that would be a good start. but www.bigalsonline.com has cheap stands.

Think your caps lock is on

The wroght iron ones are 21" high. Don't know about the others. I don't think you'll get a really tall one that's specifically for aquariums that isn't expensive.. All my stands are quite low anyway.

Oops sorry, thats me being lazy. I just find it easier than putting all the caps etc in , point taken though, and i wont do it again.

I contacted them to check the height and they are 21" high.
