I bought a 5.5 gallon aquarium today, and as I was walking through the door to my house, the wind increased and the doorknob hit the fishtank. Why, god, why?

Anyway, the chip is in a lower corner on the front of the tank. The chip is still in place. If I put some sort of panel on the outside to stop the chip from moving outwards, and siliconed the inside, would that be safe? No glass is actually missing from the aquarium; the peice is held in by the seal on the sides. I feel pretty damn stupid. On the other hand, it could be alot worse. If it hit the middle of the tank it would of gone right through.

So, is this repairable?

I don't see why not.
It's not like it is going to hold a lot of weight in water.
As long as it is still sealed, you should be fine.

I sealed it with aquarium silicone and plexiglass. I tested it, and it didn't leak. I'll be setting it up in a day or two.
