So, i want to re-design my aquarium. I am thinking some kind of natural rock, or maybe uncut slate? I'm not sure what type of rock's are safe for aquaria so i've come to ask. ;)

I'm not even sure if slate is 'ok'? Sand stone? Any other stone?

If i can't find any natural rock i'm willing to settle for branches...

Thank you, Adam. ;)

i want to try something different like this :/

bored of gravel and one plant, and a crappy ornament

i want sand, a few rocks and maybe a nicer looking ornament :p

Do the vinegar test!..... if your not sure if the rock is ok, pour a little vinegar on the rock, if it fizz's DONT USE IT!, if theres no fizz its OK!.

Slate is fine though, alot of people use this.

Thanks for your reply! :good:

So, does this work with all rocks? If they don't react to acid's they are safe for aquariums?

Hawkins, i also wanted to try something a little different just to see the results. It would also provide my fish with alot more shelter, and because of this they would feel more secure. ;)
