Aquarium Lighting

The hood on my rekord 80 is broken in that the lighting no longer functions. I've checked with jewel and they garuantee any hood for 2 years. My hood falls under this limit so I'm trying to get it replaced through my local fish shop where I bought he tank. I say trying because the hood lighting has been broke since June and the LFS has been in contact with jewel since then with no luck on the horizon of a replacement arriving in the shop anytime soon.

Has anyone else had a similar sort of problem? I'm investigating other possibilities of lighting that I could use in the tank instead of the hood light. Can anyone offer alternatives to the hood as a means of lighting up the tank as the fish look a bot depressed in the dark

I'd be on the phone directly to Juwel and also write a letter.


If you get no satisfactory reply within two weeks, get on to Trading Standards as they are breaking the terms of the guarantee

I would be asking for a new hood to be sent directly on over night courier. I'd offer to have the old one boxed up for the courier to return.

i agree phone your council and speak to trading standards id want somthing for the wait as well
