hi im been looking around for a new set up but i cant seem to find any aquarium hoods that hold 2 light tubes anyone know any good links?

thats a gd idea didnt think of that, what do i need to do this?
also is it easy to build ur own hood

its really simple,plywood is best just make sure its sealed with gloss paint or varnish and left in open air for a little while so any paint fumes won't be a problem,I made my own for my 3ft tank and going to do the same for my 6ft

thats kool thanks how much plywood do i need and how thick should it be the tank i want to build the hood for is 36x15x15 so am i right in thinking i need to make the hood 37x16x16 so it just slips over the top of the tank?

Its up to you on the design,thats the beauty of making your own.On my 6ft I'm going to make a luminaire type that will hang over the tank.I think 8mm ply will do,its not going to be taking too much weight,and you dont want it so heavy that you need a crane to lift it to get in the tank.

thanks for ur help m8 got everything i need now and should be building it on the weekend
