Hi,

Im looking to Aquascape an aquarium with a reasonably small budget. Im torn between two options at the moment and im wondering if anyone could help! Im either looking to purchase this...,

http://www.allpondso...ur-colours.html

Or im looking to buy a glass aquarium measuring 36" x 18" x 18" to fit on an old cabinet... then buy all the equipment for it, such as filter, heater and a very high powerful lighting unit!. Does anyone have any ideas on what they suggest me doing, and where i could find a company who sell just glass aquariums, with sliders and delivered for around £120?

Thanks alot
Mike

Just plain 3ft glass aqauariums are as cheap as chips, what about your local fish shop?

Thats what im looking for, and they seem to only sell kits, with pumps and everything. Im looking for literally the a glass box :L

Hi

Currently in fishless cycle on my new tank - same APS Tank you are considering - heard a lot of bad reviews about this tank but in my experience with the tank sofar is all good - great tank for the money you pay - the cabinet looks a bit cheap when you get it out of the box and is a pain to build but once its together with the tank - it looks great - bought an external filter for this tank as I had read review that it was useless - I'd invest in external if you opt for the tank. Also you can pick up good second hand branded tanks on ebay which could be another option.

Cheers

Thanks alot, but i heard you can't grow hairgrass or any plants due to the light now being powerful enough, is this true?

Also Jack1, did you say you've purchased this? do you have any pictures of it with the light unit on?

Thanks

Hi, yeah I've bought this tank

Will get some pictures up soon - there is 3 T5 Lighting tubes in the hood - it's quite bright but not able to advise about plant light - maybe try for advice in the plants section

Cheers
Jack1

lots of used stuff on e-bay or craigslist here stateside. Just google used aquariums and you can find really good deals on stuff.
