Hi

Anyone got any good tips for sticking thouse plastics aquarium backgrounds onto the outside of the tank. Allready tried sellotape but looks dull, I got water inbetween the background and the tank and it seems to brighten it up so maby a paste i could make or purchase? any ideas?

never bought one of the backgrounds.. I makemine out of blue wrapping paper, and use double sided poster tape to put them up...one strip on either side of the tank.

maby the poster tape could work for you too

I stuck mine on with selotape, looks okay to me. I wasn't too fussed about how it looked though because I wanted to plant the tank. Now with all the big plants, wood and stuff the background is hard to see.

I use "blue-tack" on mine, it is hidden by the black corner edges of the tanks. The backgrounds on my tanks are just laminated blue cardboard. (I got sick of those ones you buy from the LFS getting water between them and the glass). Now I'd don't have a problem at all, if water gets between it I can take it off and dry it. :D No need to keep replacing the cardboard.

I used some flexi-glass and silicon glued some gravel to it. which I used as a background inside of the tank. I like this method as it gets rid of the mirror effect in the tank.
