Aquapod Aquarium Systems

Just wanted to see if anyone here had some experience or knowledge of these systems. They look quite nice and self-contained. Not sure about the filtrations system though and wanted to know what people did with their systems.

How does this compare to the Nano Cube or Eclipse?

The only thing you will have to change on the aquapod is the pump, they run hot and pump very little, and the actinic bulb.

I actually just converted mine from saltwater to fresh after my prized fish died and I just gave up on saltwater.


They're perfect for nano sized freshwater planted tanks. You can have everything in the rear and the front will be so clean.

I just purchased a 12 gallon for freshwater because they look so slick. Mine ran HOT HOT HOT. In a 78 degree room, the tank with just the pump and one of the lights was running 86 degrees. I ended up

1. removing all the fins in the air vents to increase airflow
2. installing a second fan
3. replacing the stock pump with a maxijet 9W pump

Now it runs about 2 degrees over ambient, which is fine. It's a very attractive tank, but I can't believe I had to go to so much trouble just to make it useable.
