hi im getting a tank near the summer and today i went to my LFS adn saw the aquaone range.I notived the regency ones and i asked is they were suitable for the mairne fish. The shopownre said they would and that the lights would also be suitable because i want to keep corals and fish.I dont think that the lights will be suitable but soed anyone else have one.

Its a decent tank, however if it comes with t8 lights then unless you wanna just keep soft corals your gunna need a new light system. Part from that great tanks and you can use the external that comes with it for chemical media such as rowaphos. :good:

Aqua one tanks are awseome and i dont care how many people say they come with unescisary parts ill always support and give them a good rating. I agree that you should get better lighting , posibly whack a MH on it or a luminaire and problem sorted

I have 2 Aquaone tanks. I have a 980, a 620t and a 500t. All are well built good, looking tanks. I have completely removed the filteration from the 980 and repalced the lighting, I aslo cut a big part of the hood away to accomodate my skimmer but it still looks really slick. The 620t has been SW and is now currently FW and worked brilliantly both ways. I upgraded the lighting for SW. The 500 Is a cracking little tank but it only came with an undergravel filter. I ran it as FW with the undergavel filter in place but with no gravel on it. I found this worked great as there is a piece where I could attach my syphon tubing and suck all the rubbish out at each water change.

I would definately buy more Aquaone tanks and would recommend them any day :good:

although i dont own one i have seen teh build quality and they are extremly well built tanks. I agree about the lighting but if you are prepared to upgrade this or live with low light corals then its a good purchase

Also the hood filter is brilliant i took all of the filter media and have put a thick layer of sand, some chaeto algae, activated carbon and some live rock rubble. In a way its almost like my mini sump just above the tank

ok did you keep the lights in it or change them to marine whites and did you need to add antoher powerhead?

ive kept the lighting and changed the bulbs to 50/ 50 marine white / blue. Also i hope to soon add a seio 620 to give extra flow beause tbh you doo need more.
