does anyone here use the aquaFX 500 lighting system at all?

if so whats it like?

I have used the Aquafx system for over a year now and have had no problems with it at all. Got a secondary tube just recently as I bought myself a bigger tank and it just plugs into the control unit with no hassle.

It is a very versatile system that is easy to setup and is very well made - lighting tubes come with plenty of cable so makes for an easy install.

Might seem a bit expensive but you only get what you pay for.

the thing that has caught my eye is the feature that you can adjust the different light colours to suit your requirements and get the best colouration from the fish. also the fact that it dims on and off rather than just turning on and off so not startling the fish too much...

the other features seem a bit of a waste of time to be honest except maybe the blue night light.

have you tried to set up a lighting that suits your tank/fish or do you use the set settings?

I tend to use the blue standard setting for night but have set up a custom favourite colour which I use for during the day. You can alter the delay time for transitions as well so you can get a good long graduation between what ever colours you want.

how well would you say the system with 2 tubes lights up the tank?

i dont want anything too overpowering but at the same time would like to see the different colours on my fish....
