Aquaclear 300

I just got a used 30 gal and an Aquaclear 300. It has a sponge thing inside it. What else do I need? How does this type of filter work? the one I have now has a filter with everything attached (penguin biowheel).

Is there anywhere I can look to figure out how to use this filter? If possible can someone scan the directions for me? Thanks

There is also an undergravel filter? how does this work? are they connected?should I use both. the guy did and said he had great results breeding cichlids with this setup.

The aquaclear has the sponge on the bottom and then you lay a bag of carbon pn top of that. The sponge should last for years but the carbon will need to be replaced regularly.

Per UGF's (undergravel filters) I don't like them and don't use them. Both filters work independantly.

I like your bio-wheel a lot better than both of those combined.
